This project is inspired by the poetic nature of movement through vertical space. Embedded in the earth, the organically shaped shell structure is exposed to all external conditions of the site through its void. This allows the light to cast within the internal space, creating a point of interest and performance. The circulation is governed by a berm which ushers people around a natural slope, leading them to the main ramp. The berm also filters out the noise of the road adjacent to the site. The overall goal of this project is to connect organic and man-made elements to form a symbiotic relationship between the building and its landscape, creating a moment of pause.
